Official and Player Run Events in Agos

Throughout the history of Agos, players and Igufed have run a variety of different special events, from Player vs Player combat tournaments to goofy item collection events. What follows is a brief description of the most important events and their prizes.

Pi2k

March 14th, 2024

Pi2k was a celebration of 2000 days of Agos, which happened to fall on Pi Day, 2024. During the event, players competed to collect 'Pieces of Pie'. Pie could be found by killing almost any mob, though only rarely. The event ended after players collected 2000 slices. There were 6 different prizes to win, though Gufi decided to give out two of each due to the fairly large participant pool. All participants also recieved a Pi2k Clear Balloon of a random color (5 colors).

Prizes:

Winners:

Top 5 Pie Collectors:

  1. Passimies: 392
  2. Helioman: 315
  3. Josh: 311
  4. Wubbsie: 292
  5. Sienna420: 259

Sienna's Agos Bingo

November 18th, 2023

Sienna's Agos Bingo was an item collection event themed around Bingo. Participants worked in teams of one or two to fill out a 'Bingo Board'. The board was 5x5, like standard bingo. Each cell contained a different item, and teams marked cells off when they collected the item in the cell. Prizes were given out to the first two teams to get a 'bingo' by collecting all 5 items in a row, column, or diagonal.

Registered Teams:

13loody & Fisuman; Krazykilla & Josh; RCT; Archive

Prizes:

Igufed generously offered to increase the number of prizes with a "Red Star Bonus". Extra rare items in the board were marked with a Red Star. Any team who collected the item would recieve a bonus prize after turning in their card. Igufed gave out these bonus prizes, and to be honest I don't remember what they were. However I do believe everyone got a random Second Chance box as a 'Participation' prize.

Fisuman and 13loody got the first Bingo, RCT collected the second. Each player got a donation gift of their choice.

Lucifer's "Bi-Weekly" Tournament

September 2020 to October 2023.

Lucifer is a community member well known for his participation in the PvP scenes in both Agos and Stick Online. For years he ran a semi-frequent PvP tournament, which was only sometimes 'bi-weekly'. Luci's PvP events held the attention of much of the playerbase during its run, and even holds the honor of being the direct target of a handful of gameplay changes and feature additions.

General Rules: Players were usually allowed to use any "publically available" items, save for "overpowered" event-exclusive items like the Anniversary Hat. Before fights, which were typically 1v1s, participants stood on opposite sides of the arena. They would dance or otherwise emote to signal they were ready. Then Luci would count down from 3 and yell "Fight" to start the match. Players typically could win via killing their opponent or knocking them out of the play area. If fights took too long, Luci would restrict the play area by removing the "lower area". There wasn't a 'typical' number of rounds per match up, though best of 3 and best of 5 were common, with single elimination also being fairly common. We did see a few Round Robin and double elimination tournaments though.

The winner of the Tournament would get a donation gift as a prize. Various bonus events & prizes were given out at these tournaments too. More recent tournaments included a 'Gauntlet' in which the top 3 contestants would battle 1v1 against the other contestants in a single elimination blitz. Each win before they lost would get them a 'Luci Buck.' Luci Buck were given out for many different mini-events, like Free For Alls after tournaments. Luci would give out another donation gift to anyone who had collected at least 5 of them.

Effect on the Game:

Luci's Tournaments were the impetous for several changes Gufi made to the game. The Castle Training Area was redesigned with the knowledge gained from the PvP held there. The Recurve Bow was heavily nerfed after it proved to be extremely powerful during the tournaments. At this time, the bow was relatively rare to see as well, making it much more of an issue. Gufi added a feature to allow event-holders to count down from 3 more easily, which was almost exclusively used by Lucifer. The 'Death Skin' cosmetic item was added to spice up the Tournament prize pool, as well as the Giant Trophy Sit Pose.

The Official Agos Tournament

March 12th, 2022

During the height of Agos's PvP era, Igu hosted an Official Tournament with special, unique hats as prizes. The tournament was a Best of 5 Single Elimintation without knockouts. Event items were banned, otherwise there were no special rules. There were 3 big prizes; The 'T1 1st Place Crown', 'T1 2nd Place Crown', and the 'T1 Random Draw Crown'. In between matches Gufi would give out a few random prizes, including the Random Draw Crown. Fisuman won the tournament, with Helioman getting second place. elHefe won the Random Draw Crown. A youtube recording of the tournament can be found here.

Gufi has expressed interest in holding another Official tournament, but as PvP is currently very rare its not likely to be any time soon.

Zario's PvP Events

September 4th, 2022 and December 31, 2022

Zario has hosted 2 PvP events. The first was a 'restricted item' tournament. Players would choose one item per match to 'protect' before the tournament. At the start of a match, each player would also choose one item to ban. Neither player could use any banned items, but they couldn't ban items they or an opponent had 'protected'. After each round, the loser would pick one more item to ban. After each match, the bans would be reset, but players couldn't change their protected items once the tournament had started. The winner got to choose a hat Zario would donate to make fusable or an equivalent donation to the Beach Boss Fund. KrazyKilla won the tournament, though the hat he chose was lost to time. Zario had this to say about it: "I think he chose a dummy hat 😭 [Maybe] Sailor's?"

Zario's second pvp-event was a single-elimination event-items only tournament. Each match was a best of 3. The top 3 participants got a donation gift, and the winner got another donation gift. Krazykilla also won this tournament.

Zario's Hat Fusion Fashion Contest

July 31, 2021

In this event, Zario had players submit their own hat fusions for his judging on what the 'best looking' hat fusions would be. Hat fusions were relatively new at this point, so many players did not have duplicates and didn't know what they might look like before fusing them. Zario also had players DM him their three (3) favorite hat fusions made by other players. The top 3 among those judged by the playerbase would recieve a donation gift. However, second place was a 3 way tie, so Zario decided not to declare his own favorite in order to give all the top 3 placers a gift. In first place was Sk8 with his Golden Shark Hat. Second place held Rozaria's Black Flowa Pin, Helio's Dark Arts Hat, and Pommes' Rusty Royal Guard Helm. In third was Sienna420 with her 'Cat Girl Ears'. Roz was personally dismayed that her Flowa Pin fuse won; she didn't believe it deserved a win & was more proud of her other fusions.

Gufi's Trivia Nights

Uh.

For several years after the initial release, Gifu would infrequently host "Trivia Nights." During these informal events, Gufi would ask strange, usually hyper-specific, trivia questions about the game. Players would give their best guesses, since usually nobody knew the answers; igufed would either choose the closest player as the winner or declair that nobody was close enough to win a prize. These questions were 'unfair' but the rewards were generally worth putting up with the sillyness. Unique clear balloons, fireworks, cosmetics, or later even lootboxes.

Here are some examples of trivia questions:

To fuel these questions, Igufed has an extensive database keeping track of all kinds of bizarre metrics. Items even have their own identification number, so Igu can track if anyone has duplicated their weapons/hats/consumables. Similarly, one player named Rozaria has kept a list of common trivia questions & their answers (including during past trivia nights). She's used this list to win a handful of times, too.
